57th Annual Meeting

The District’s 57th Annual Meeting was held at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds and Conference Center in Danville on January 27, 2009. The meeting began with the meal catered by Sandy Moore Catering and was attended by approximately 76 people from Hendricks County, with a few visitors thrown in. Jim Loughmiller presided over the annual meeting.
The business part of the meeting is to report about the activities of the District and to provide a financial statement. Please look for the Annual Report insert in this newsletter in case you missed the meeting. Also an election was held. Jack Nelson of Union Township was re-elected to a three-year term as Supervisor. Hendricks Circuit Court Judge, Jeffrey V. Boles handled the oath-of-office ceremony picture.
Awards were given during the meeting which is always a highlight.
Amy Sieferman received the Donald H. Lawson Award for Conservation Education.
David Wyeth received the Conservation Farmer of the Year Award.
Our speaker for the evening was Mary Sloan, who shared the family's travel and experiences traveling to China to watch her daughter, Bridget compete in the 2008 Olympics. Bridget is a junior at Tri-West High School. She competed in Gymnastics, placing third receiving the Bronze Olympic metal..
A good time was had by all!
